Heat the cooking oil in a pan.

Saute the garlic, onion, and ginger for 1 minute.

Add the shrimp paste. Sauté for 30 seconds then add the pork and cook until it turns light brown.

Pour the coconut milk and water into the pan. Cover and let it boil. Reduce to a simmer and cook until the pork tenderizes (around 20 minutes).

Add the calabaza squash. Cover and cook for 6 minutes.

Add the long green beans and chili pepper. Cook for 5 minutes.

Season with fish sauce and ground black pepper.
