Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork belly cubed
  • 2 ounces banana blossoms
  • 3 pieces saba banana sliced
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 8 ounces pineapple juice
  • 8 ounces lemon lime soda
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons salted black beans
  • 1 piece onion chopped
  • 1 head garlic chopped

Instructions

  • Sear the pork belly until it turns brown, and enough oil is rendered. Remove the pork belly from the pan. Set aside.
  • Sauté the onion and garlic for 2 minutes.
  • Add the pork belly, soy sauce, vinegar, lemon lime soda, pineapple juice, and beef broth. Cover and let the liquid boil.
  • Add the banana blossoms. Adjust the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook until the pork tenderizes completely.
  • Add the salted black beans and brown sugar. Cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add the bananas. Cook for 5 minutes.
  • Season with ground black pepper.
  • Serve with warm white rice. Share and enjoy!
